Fostering Hope is a Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM) that seeks to care for vulnerable children in Culpeper County by providing practical support and encouragement to their caregivers and social workers. By sharing the love of Jesus in tangible ways, the Church can bring hope and healing to our community’s overwhelmed child welfare system. Caregivers who foster or adopt need to know they’ll have a network of care and community to support them in their calling; this is how everyone at PBC can be involved!
Volunteers can offer support and build meaningful relationships that impact the Kingdom in the following ways:
- Praying diligently and consistently
- Bringing weekly meals
- Supplying or sourcing practical needs (e.g., bunk beds, strollers, car seats, clothing)
- Transporting children to appointments
- Mentoring children and young adults who have aged out of foster care
- Coordinating volunteers to serve a family
- Becoming trained to provide respite care
- And more!
Do you want to impact the lives of vulnerable children but are unsure how? Contact us to find your perfect fit!
- I want to learn more about how I can help at-risk children and practical ways to support foster or adoptive families.
- I want to encourage a social worker on the front lines.
- I want to support individuals who have aged out of the foster care system and are seeking mentorship to be better prepared for adulthood.
Fostering Hope is a ministry of PBC that works in partnership with Project Belong Virginia and CarePortal. We partner with these organizations for training, resources, and tools. Project Belong has a lot of good language around our ministry’s vision, how it works, and who we serve. CarePortal is a connecting technology that helps us meet practical needs.
