How did God call you to the ministry?

I went to college to study premed with the intention of becoming a doctor. After my sophomore year in college, I became concerned for the teenagers that I was ministering to at summer camp. God changed my desire from helping to heal bodies to helping heal souls. I surrendered to the ministry and have been in ministry ever since.

Pastor Scott Torres

Scott serves as the Pastor of Discipleship at Providence Bible Church. He is a follower of Jesus, a husband to Andrea, and a father to their four children: Boston, Bryce, Bailey, and Brooks — affectionately known as the “Killer Bs.”

Scott has served in local church and parachurch ministry settings since 2000. He loves helping people grow in their walk with Christ, understand God’s Word, and live faithfully as disciples of Jesus.

He attended Valdosta State University, where he majored in Communications, and later earned his M.Div. from Liberty University.

When he is not serving at the church, Scott enjoys a good cup of black coffee and Moose Tracks ice cream.

Elders

For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it. – Titus 1:7-9
