We rejoice and give God thanks for the many who were baptized last Sunday and for the wonderful testimonies that were shared. God bless you, Samantha Downs, Debbie Fraser, Mark Fraser, Julie Gannon, Brady Jenkins, and Camden Pope.NEW MEMBER WELCOME
We are thrilled that God continues to bring new people into the fellowship of Providence Bible Church. Mark and Debbie Fraser are the most recent to apply for membership. They have completed all of the requirements for membership and have been interviewed by the elders. We look forward to welcoming them as members. This is being presented in accordance with the requirements of our constitution, which calls for such notice to be given at least three weeks prior to an official welcome into membership.PLEASE NOTE LOCATION CORRECTION !! WORSHIP & PRAYER NIGHT
This Sunday, September 27th, Jesse and Sharon Hunt will open their home for a worship and prayer night at 6:00 PM. This is an opportunity for anyone from our church family who is interested to join together and seek God in prayer for the harvest that is plentiful.LOOKING FOR WAYS TO EXPERIENCE MORE MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS?
There is a special blessing that comes when we step out of our comfort zones to serve others in the body of Christ. As we minister alongside our brothers and sisters, relationships deepen and friendships are formed.Prayerfully consider the following opportunities available now:

providencebible.org ) is asking for someone to volunteer to clean and fill the baptismal on the Friday morning before a Sunday baptism occurs.Lauchlin Lee would really like to find a few more church members who would be willing to serve on the counting (the offering) rotation. This would be an easy commitment after the Sunday worship service, about once every eight weeks.

Men, come enjoy an overnight getaway at Camp Shenandoah Springs in Madison, VA for fellowship, rest, and encouragement.Friday, 4 PM – Saturday, 4 PM
Cost: $75 per person
Meals provided: Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast & lunch

This is a wonderful opportunity for our church family to connect with and serve our community. Each year, we welcome around 100 children and their families, and we’re praying for even more this year. To make this event a success, we need lots of helping hands and plenty of participation from our church family.One of the highlights of the day is decorating vehicle trunks with fun, Bible-themed displays. If decorating isn’t your thing, don’t worry! We’ve put together a collection of easy, ready-made trunk decoration kits available on Amazon. Simply order a kit, open your trunk, and you’re ready to go.
There are many other ways to get involved as well. We’re looking for volunteers to help run games and activities, and we also need lots of donated candy for our young guests.

September 16 Devotion
Dear PBC Family,
“for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”” (Isaiah 56:7)
In Isaiah 56, beginning in verse 6, the Lord is describing who the true people of God are. They are not just ethnic Jews. Rather they are people wholly devoted to the Lord. Part of that devotion involves a robust personal and corporate prayer life.
There is an emphasis on corporate intercession that the Lord desires for His people that we see carried into the new covenant, for in Acts we read of the gatherings for prayer that the very first Christians held. Of course, the earliest believers did not have dedicated sanctuaries for praise and prayer, often meeting in homes for teaching and worship. Still, the corporate emphasis on prayer indicates that it is appropriate to have sanctuaries that are houses of prayer for God’s people.
It is surely a mark of spiritual poverty that we devote little attention to corporate prayer when we gather for worship. In many of our modern churches, there is much focus on the music, the sermon, or both, but corporate prayer often seems like an afterthought. Prayer keeps us humble before our Maker and reminds us of our need for His mercy, which is key as only those who rely on God’s mercy alone are declared righteous in His sight
We must not only be a “people of the book” but we must be “a people of prayer.”

Our Sunday service will include a baptism this Sunday, September 20. All of those being baptized are reminded to meet with Pastor Jarred in room A-8, at 10:20 AM.URGENT NEED FOR CHILDREN’S CHURCH TEACHERS
There is still an urgent need for Children’s Church teachers on Week 3 and Week 4. Working with kids is such a joy and privilege. The time commitment is 1 Sunday each month. All teaching materials, lessons, and training are provided. Background checks are required on anyone working with kids at PBC. Would you consider joining us in this very important kingdom work? Save the date! Trunk or Treat at PBC is Saturday October 24 from 2-4pm! This is an all-church outreach for our community! Join us as we decorate our car trunks in bible-themed decor. This event usually reaches about 100 kids (hopefully more!) in the community. We need everyone we can get to participate! This event does not work without the church! Not creative?
