  • Fall Discipleship Opportunities

    Church Family,

As we prepare for the fall, we are excited to offer several opportunities to grow in God’s Word, build meaningful relationships, and become better equipped to follow Jesus and help others follow Him.

    Sunday School

Our fall Sunday School semester begins September 6. Classes meet each Sunday at 9:00 AM.

    Adult classes:

    • How to Study the Bible — Darrell Fletcher
    • Church History I — Dave Moon
    • Cultivating a Relationship with God — Randy Davis and Hunter Harwell
    • Biblical Manhood & Womanhood — Scott Torres and Gary Farmer
    • Biblical Leadership — Tom Franks and Mark Fischer

    Children and student classes:

    • Pre-K–5th Grade — Wendy Honsinger and Christy Solarczyk
    • Middle School — Caleb Moorehead and Zach Hunt

    Women’s Bible Study

Women are invited to join our fall Women’s Bible Study led by Lesley Lezcano. This study provides a place for women to open God’s Word together, grow in their relationship with Christ, and encourage one another in the faith.

    Community Life Groups

Our Community Life Groups provide opportunities to share life on life, life in community, and life on mission. Available groups include:

    • Cain Group — Sermon-based discussion
    • Peterson Group — A Praying Life
    • Carlson/Hornung Group — 1 Corinthians
    • Skelton Group — Sanctification and Parenting
    • Men’s CLG — A place for men to study God’s Word, pray, and encourage one another
    • Downline CLG — A 16-month journey through Scripture designed to equip believers to follow Jesus and help others follow Him, led by Mark and Debi Fraser and Brandon and Samantha Downs

You can learn more and register by visiting the Ministry Corner on Sunday or registering online. Whether you are new to Providence or have been part of our church family for many years, we encourage you to prayerfully choose a place to grow and connect this fall.

    Let’s continue making disciples together.

  • A Grateful Heart On Independence Day

    Church Family,

Today is a good day to pause and give thanks to God for the United States of America and for the many blessings we enjoy as a nation. For nearly 250 years, God has been kind to preserve our country and allow us to live with freedoms that many people around the world have never known.

As George Washington once wrote, it is the duty of nations “to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God…to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor.” That is a fitting reminder for us today.

As Christians, we remember that our first and highest citizenship is in heaven. Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:20 that “our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Our ultimate hope is in Christ and His kingdom.

At the same time, we can joyfully celebrate the country God has placed us in. I am thankful to be an American. I am thankful for the freedom to worship, gather as the church, preach the gospel, raise our families, serve our neighbors, and seek the good of our communities.

I am also thankful for those who have served our country and helped preserve these freedoms. In my own family, my grandfather, father, stepmother, sister, two brothers-in-law, and several cousins have served in the military. I am grateful for their sacrifice and for the sacrifice of so many others.

So today, enjoy the celebration. Give thanks. Pray for our country. Love your neighbors. And rejoice that our greatest hope is secure in Jesus Christ.

    Happy Fourth of July,

    Pastor Scott
